Fish – is well know for its health benefits. Lets prepare a dish which would be liked by kids and grown ups and also can be prepared easily and with less ingredients. 

Ingredients

For frying Fish 

  1.     Fish – 500 grams (Here we have used Salmon fish but we can prefer any big size fish)
  2.     Ginger – 50 grams
  3.     Garlic – 50 grams
  4.     Lemon – 1
  5.     Salt – 1/4 tbsp
  6.     Pepper powder – 1/4 tbsp

To prepare gravy

  1.     Chilli powder – 1/2 tbsp
  2.     Green chilli – 10
  3.     Capsicum – 1/2 
  4.     Oil – 100g
  5.     Vinegar – 2 tbsp
  6.     Water – 50ml
  7.     Salt – 1/4 tbsp
  8.     Onion – 3
  9.     Spring onion – few leaves
  10.     Tomato ketchup – 1 tbsp
  11.     Soya sauce – 2 tbsp

Things to be done before we start cooking

  1.   Clean the fish, cut them into medium size pieces.
  2.   ‘Ginger Garlic’ paste – Take 50 grams of peeled ginger and 50 grams of garlic, grind them together in our mixy jar to obtain a paste.
  3.   Medium sized onions -3, peel the skin and cut into small pieces.
  4.   Green Chillies – 10, wash and then cut into small pieces.
  5.   Spring onions – take a few, cut into one-inch-long pieces.
  6.   Capsicum – take 1/2 of it, cut into small pieces.

Steps to Prepare

1 Take the fish pieces in a bowl. Squeeze the juice from one lemon fruit.

2 Add –

  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Ginger Garlic paste – 1/2 tablespoon

Mix the contents well with our hands. Let it marinate for the next 20 minutes.

3 Place a pan on the burner – turn on the flame to high mode.

4 Pour 100 ml of oil – Let it get a little hot. Once the oil gets hot, turn the flame to medium mode.

5 Place the fish pieces one by one on the hot pan with hot oil in it. After 2 minutes, try to flip each of the pieces so that they get cooked on all side. Repeat the flipping process every now and then so that the pieces get cooked evenly on all sides.

We need to cook in medium flame for close to 5 minutes.

Take out the cooked fish pieces and place in a plate. (We can see that the fish pieces will start breaking once they are completely cooked)

Preparing Gravy

6 Put the onion pieces into oil that is left in pan after frying fish.

  • Also add the green chillies (10 chillies cut into small pieces).

Fry a little till onions become soft.

  • Spring onion pieces – add this and fry for next 30 seconds.
  • Ginger garlic paste – 3/4 tablespoon. Stir and mix them all.
  • Chilli powder – ½ tablespoon, stir a little for 5 seconds.
  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Water – 50 ml

7 After adding all the above-mentioned items, turn the flame to LOW MODE and leave the contents for the next 1 minute. Stir gently.

8 After 1 minute, pour the below –

  • Tomato Ketchup – 1 tablespoon
  • Vinegar – 2 tablespoons
  • Soya Sauce – 2 tablespoons – Stir well and mix them.
  • Add capsicum pieces and stir.

Leave the contents for 30 seconds in low flame.

9 Now, turn off the flame. Lift the pan and pour the gravy all over the fried fish pieces.

That’s all folks, our chilli fish is ready to be tasted.
