Chicken is the favorite non-veg for most of us, especially kids. If its pop corn type, then it will be surely loved by children. Today lets prepare it in KFC style to make it more lucrative for all. Lets make it.

Ingredients

  1.     Chicken – 1/4 kg (boneless)
  2.     Ginger powder – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon
  3.     Garlic powder – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon
  4.     Pepper powder – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon
  5.     Paprika powder – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon
  6.     Chilli powder – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon
  7.     Salt – 1/4 + 1/4 tablespoon 
  8.     Oregano – 1/4 tablespoon
  9.     Butter milk – 100 ml    
  10.     Maida – 100 grams

Things to be done before we start cooking

  • Wash and clean the chicken pieces and let them dry.
  • The chicken pieces should be cut to very small pieces (half the size of our thumb)

Steps to Prepare

(1)    Take the cleaned 1/4 kg of boneless chicken pieces in a bowl.

(2)    Please add the below spices to the chicken pieces in bowl –

  • Garlic powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Ginger powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Oregano – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Paprika powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Red chilli powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon

(3)    Take 50ml of curd and mix it with 50ml water and churn it well to get 100ml ‘butter milk’.

(4)    Pour the butter milk into bowl with chicken + spices. With spoon stir the contents well.

(5)    Make sure the chicken pieces are dipped completely under butter milk. Let the chicken marinate for 60 minutes to 75 minutes.

(6)    After 1 hour, take another bowl, and start adding the below –

  • Maida – 100 grams
  • Garlic powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Ginger powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Paprika powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Red chilli powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon

Stir well so that maida and other spices blend together.

(7)    Take one chicken piece, dip it in the flour (prepared in step 6) and roll it well so that more of dough sticks in all sides of the chicken piece.

Keep the chicken pieces covered with dough + spice mix in another plate.

Similarly do the same for all the chicken pieces and place them on the plate.

(8)    Place a small deep pan on the burner – turn on the flame.

Pour 300 ml or 400 ml oil according to the size of pan. Oil taken should be enough to dip the pieces fully. 

Let the oil get a little hot.

(9)    Once the oil gets medium hot, turn flame to LOW mode. 

  • Start adding the dough coated chicken pieces to oil.
  • Make sure all the chicken pieces dip in oil completely for frying.
  • After 30 seconds of adding, start to stir gently so that chicken pieces don’t stick together.

(10)    In 5 minutes, the chicken pieces get fried completely. Take the pieces out and place it in a plate. Turn off the burner.

 

Out KFC style popcorn chicken is ready to be tasted.
