A tasty and healthy snacks variety for kids – easy to make. Lets see how to prepare this in simple steps.

Ingredients

  1.     Chicken – 1/2 kg (boneless)
  2.     Chilli powder – 1 tablespoon
  3.     Coriander powder – 1 tablespoon
  4.     Chicken 65 masala – 1 tablespoon
  5.     Pepper powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  6.     Salt – 1/4 tablespoon
  7.     Oil – 1 table spoon
  8.     Ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tablespoon
  9.     Corn flour – 2 tablespoon
  10.     Maida – 2 tablespoon
  11.     Egg – 2
  12.     Bread crumbs – 200 grams (or 1 cup)
  13.     Cheese cubes (we can use either Mozzarella or processed cheese)

Things to be done before we start cooking

  • Wash and clean the boneless chicken pieces (half Kg). Let the water dry off completely.
  • Grind together 100 grams of ginger and garlic to obtain “ginger-garlic” paste.

Steps to Prepare

(1)    Add the washed and dried boneless chicken pieces to our big “mixer Jar” (mixy Jar).

(2)    Let’s add the below to jar with chicken pieces – (note:  if we are going to use Kashmiri chilli powder instead of the normal chilli powder then we should add 1 tablespoon of “Kashmiri chilli powder”. If its normal chilli powder then half tablespoon is enough)

  • Chilli powder – 1/2 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder – 1/4 tablespoon
  • Coriander powder – 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken 65 masala (readymade – use any available brand) – 1 tablespoon
  • Powder pepper = 1/4 tablespoon
  • Salt – 1/4 tablespoon

Run the mixy machine for about 1 minute or more till we obtain a fine paste of chicken and masala mix.

(3)    Transfer the chicken-masala paste from jar to a big bowl. Add ginger garlic paste – 1/2 tablespoon to the paste and mix it well using hands or a spoon.

(4)

  • Apply oil on both the palms.
  • Take a little of the chicken masala paste in hands – roll it into a ball (like we do for making roti).
  • Then press the ball with both hands to make an oval shaped thick patty (like a burger patty).
  • Keep two cheese cubes at the middle of the flattened oval shaped paste.
  • Start rolling it again so that the cheese cubes stay in the center of the ball and the chicken paste makes the outer cover.
  • Repeat it to make enough balls with cheese cubes at the center.
  • Place all the balls in a plate.

(5)    Take –

  • corn flour – 2 tablespoons
  • maida – 2 tablespoons
  • Mix them together and keep it in a small bowl – we need to dip our chicken cheese balls in this.

(6)    Beat 2 eggs together and keep them in a small wide bowl.

(7)    Take ‘bread crumbs’ – 200 grams (or 1 cup) in another bowl.

(8)

  • Take one ball – dip it in the “corn flour & maida” mix – roll it over and over till the ball gets a layer of the flour all over it.
  • Now, place the flour covered ball into the bowl with beaten egg.
  • Using a spoon, dip it inside completely and roll it.
  • Using the same spoon, take out the ball and put it in the bowl with bread crumbs.
  • Roll the ball in the bread crumbs – a thick layer of crumbs would form over it.
  • We can repeat the same process for all the balls and keep them aside in a plate.

(9)    Place a pan on the burner – Turn on the flame.

(10)    Pour in 400 ml to 500 ml of oil. Let the oil get a little hot.

Don’t let the oil get too hot – or else when we start frying the balls, the outer layer or the bread crumb alone will get deep fried and the chicken inside will not get cooked fully.

(11)    Once the oil gets a little hot, turn the flame to low mode. Start putting the balls coated with egg and flour mixture into the hot oil.

(12)    Let the balls get fried for 1 minute. Then start flipping it over so that the other side also gets fried.

The balls should get fried and turn to a golden brown colour.

We would need to fry it in low flame for 4 or 5 minutes to fry completely.

Remove the balls from oil – our chicken cheese balls are ready now.

We can have this yummy chicken cheese balls along with tomato sauce and garlic mayonnaise.
