The water extract of betel leaves helps to increase immunity in our body and clean our lungs – a must try during this pandemic.
- Water – 500 ml
- Palm Candy – 1 tablespoon
- Betel – 1
- Pepper – 15
- Cinnamon – 1
- Cardamom – 1
- Cumin – 2 pinch
- Dried ginger – 1 inch
- Ginger – 1 inch
Things to note
- We can consume this Kashayam every day (as this is pandemic period).
- Need to prepare and consume this Kashayam in empty stomach for maximum effect.
- The kashayam should be little warm while drinking for good effectiveness.
- After pandemic stops, we can take this once or twice a week – to boost immunity.
- Important – This is not a medicine to prevent Corona; it’s just a drink made to boost our immunity and help avoid catching cold and subsequent fever.
Steps to Prepare
We are going to prepare Kashayam for just 1 person – so we are going to use just 1 betel leaf and other ingredients accordingly. If we are going to prepare for more people, than the ingredients will vary accordingly.
(1) Place 2 litres pan on the big burner. Turn on the flame and keep it in HIGH mode.
(2) Pour in 500 ml of water.
(3) Put a medium sized betel leaf (no need to cut the leaf) into water.
(4) Then, add the below to the pan –
- Cinnamon – 1
- Cloves – 5
- Cardamom – 1 (break it and then add)
- Cumin – ¼ tablespoon
- Pepper – 15 (black pepper)
- Ginger – 1 inch (peel and then crush a little using a stone and then add)
- Dried ginger – 1 inch (crush it a little using stone and then add)
- Palm candy – 1 tablespoon
Cinnamon – helps to burn the fat in our blood
Cloves and cardamom – help to stop spreading of cold
Ginger – helps to prevent catching cold and also helps to cure cold.
(5) After adding all the above ingredients, turn the flame to LOW mode.
Let the water boil for another 15 minutes in LOW flame.
After 15 minutes, turn OFF the flame. Let the water and ingredients stay for another 2 or 3 minutes.
(6) Use a filter and pour the kashayam into a cup – now it’s ready to drink.
