    Crab Soup

    Ingredients:     Crab - 1     Small Onion – 20 (shallots)     Oil - 2 tablespoons     Garlic - 10     Ginger - 1 inch     Coriander leaves - few     Green Chilli - 2     Tomato - 1     Cumin - 1/4 tablespoon     Coriander - 1/4 tablespoon     Turmeric powder - 2 pinches     Salt - 1/4 tablespoon     Water - 1 litre     Cumin powder - 2 pinches     Pepper powder - 1/2 tablespoon Things to be done before we start cooking Take 1 crab - Wash and clean the crab. Peel the skin of 20 shallots. Crush them a little using ‘mortar and pestle’. Peel the skin of 10 cloves of garlic, crush them using ‘mortar and pestle’.     Ingredients:     Sea bass or in Tamil it’s called Koduva Meen – 1 kg     Oil – 100 ml (ground nut or gingelly oil or refined oil)     Pepper – 1/2 tablespoon     Cumin - 1/2 tablespoon     Mustard - 1/2 tablespoon     Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tablespoon     Garlic – 10 cloves     Shallots – 30 (shallot means à sambar onion or small onion)     Curry leaves – few     Mint leaves – a little     Green chillies – 3     Brinjal – 4 (medium sized)     Tomatoes – 3 (medium sized)     Salt - 1/2 tablespoon     Chilli powder – 3/4 tablespoon     Turmeric powder - 1/2 tablespoon     Coriander powder – 1.5 tablespoon     Cumin powder - 1/2 tablespoon     Tamarind – take the size of a lemon [...]

    Ingredients:     Rice – 300 Grams (we can use either ‘parboiled rice’ or ‘raw rice’)     Water – 500 ml     Oil – 3 tablespoons + 100 ml (ground nut oil preferably)     Ginger - 3 inch     Green Chilli - 6     Garlic - 10     Coriander – 2 bunch     Lemon Juice – from 1 fruit     Mint – ½ bunch     Cardamom - 4     Clove - 4     Cinnamon – 2     Star Anise - 1     Cumin – 2 pinches     Turmeric powder – 2 pinches     Cashew nuts – 25 grams Things to be done before we start cooking Rinse and wash 300 grams of ‘parboiled rice’ or ‘raw rice’ in water – repeat this step for 3 times to clean the rice – then soak the cleaned [...]
